SFB 1244 Symposium – Adaptive Skins and Structures

We would like to invite you to our symposium “Adaptive Skins and Structures” of the SFB 1244, which will take place on 26.5.2023 on the occasion of Prof. Werner Sobek’s 70th birthday. Werner Sobek is former director of the Institute of Lightweight Design and Construction (ILEK) and initiator of the SFB 1244.

Prof. Bergmeister, Dr. Richner and Prof. Curbach will give the opening and closing speeches at the symposium. They will present the latest findings on the topic of “Resource Efficiency in Construction”. In addition, researchers from the SFB will present their latest scientific findings on adaptive skins and structures.

Please also note that the farewell lecture of Prof. Werner Sobek will take place on the evening before our symposium, on May 25, 2023 at 4:00 pm. We would like to kindly invite you to this event as well. You can find more information about this public event on the office website of Werner Sobek.

Following the symposium, the exhibition “Adaptive Architecture” will be ceremoniously opened in the Demonstrator high-rise building, D1244. The exhibition will take place on eight of the twelve levels of the demonstrator and will also be open to visitors during the IBA’27 Festival in June 2023.
