Lecture Series – Adaptivity as Utopia
February 29 | 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
We are very pleased to invite you to the lecture by Prof. Anett-Maud Joppien from the Technical University of Darmstadt.
Her lecture:
The genesis of experimental adaptive prototypes – strategies of sustainable architecture in the context of “research-design-build”
Date:
February 29, 2024 | 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Speaker:
Prof.in Anett-Maud Joppien
A short summary of the lecture:
What contribution can sustainable architecture make in the fight against climate change and the climate-damaging role of building?
A relentless analysis of experimental realized prototypes, e.g. for the Solar Decathlon, shows dead ends in development, but also extracts the essential levers for today’s planning decisions that will determine the future of tomorrow’s building.
The question arises as to how we can shape the complex interactions between building and the environment in research, planning and construction processes in an interdisciplinary and adaptive way for sustainable architecture.
Can model-based, integral and AI-controlled planning methods bundle individual specialist expertise and existing knowledge per se in the sense of holistic and integral solution finding?
Where are the boundaries between vision and reality?
The event will take place both in person and digitally.
