Abstract:

If architecture is an epistemically inherent speculation about the future, an epistemically inherent fiction, what role does scientific practice play within our discipline? Taking root in epistemological interrogations as tackled by social sciences, the talk builds on early philosophy of AI debates surrounding the computation of the tacit and of the explicit. Offering perspectives on knowledge & knowledge transfer within the computational field in architecture, it discusses how to navigate the potential automation of the discipline that recent technological innovations bring about.
